Every day, people search for the things you sell.
What does it cost? Which one should I choose? Who's best at this? Is it worth it?
Almost none of them are ready to buy yet. They're deciding. And the brand with the best answers is the one they decide on.
Search is where decisions are made
In a study of 332 million Google searches, fewer than 1 in 100 were someone ready to buy. About one in seven were people researching products and services. Over half were people looking something up.
AI search is the same. Buying prompts are the smallest slice of all in Google's AI Overviews and ChatGPT.
That's not bad news. It's the biggest opportunity in marketing. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, your customer is open to being convinced.
Be famous for the answers
The brands that win aren't the loudest. They're the ones known for the answers.
Ask what a service costs, and their guide comes up. Ask how two options compare, and their video explains it. Ask who does it best, and AI search names them, because everything it finds about that topic points back to them.
That's fame built around your products and services: being the trusted source on the questions that lead to your door.
Accurate answers win
There will always be noise out there: outdated pages, half-right forum posts, guesses dressed up as advice. You don't beat it by shouting louder. You beat it by being clearer, more credible and easier to find.
When your answers are the best ones available, accurate, expert and up to date, they're the ones search engines and AI choose to show. The misinformation doesn't win, because there's something better to cite.
How to build that fame
Start with the real questions. List what your buyers ask before they ever call you. Your sales team already knows.
Answer in every format. Video, articles, images and podcasts. Search engines and AI draw on all of them, and YouTube is the most-cited domain in Google's AI Overviews.
Publish where it counts. Your own site and channels first, then trusted voices: trade press, real customers, credible partners.
Keep it fresh. Fame fades if the answers go stale. Refresh them every quarter.
That's premium content. One production, made properly, turned into a library of answers that makes your brand famous for exactly the things your buyers need to know.
And fame compounds. About a third of Google searches are people looking for a brand they already know. Be the answer often enough, and they start searching for you by name.
