The apprentice comes to Little Orchard

Little Orchard has always been keen to support young people coming into the industry. Mainly because at one time we were young people struggling to get into the industry. So we have taken on an apprentice for the next few months. And who knows, hopefully he’ll stay as part of the team.

Our apprentice comes from Pearson in Practice, the UK’s leading provider of Apprenticeship training. Pearson is set to shake up the Creative and Digital Media sector with their new Apprenticeship programme. As well as offering a general understanding and skills relevant to the sector, this unique Apprenticeship includes the Adobe Certified Associate Certification, which covers training in Adobe products such as Photoshop, Flash or Dreamweaver.

In an ever-changing industry, the Apprenticeship will develop employees who are multi-skilled and able to work across a variety of digital platforms – from video production, digital imaging, design and web development.

Apprenticeships are considered the gold standard for on the job training in the UK with more than 100,000 employers offering programmes. They play an important role in the Government’s plan to growing skills in the UK economy and are increasingly recognised as a way of creating a workforce who have the skills and the attitude that employers want and need.

The programme will last for nine months, with apprentices completing eight weeks off-the-job training at a Pearson in Practice training centre.

Pearson are one of many local and national apprenticeship scemes we’ve been approached by so there is no excuse for young people with a talent for creative and media skills to find their way in to our notoriously nepatistic industry.

Welcome to Little Orchard Gavin, we hope you have a really great time with us and a really great future career!
